Our Safeguarding Commitment Statement

GROOTS Kenya has a well-established and solid safeguarding policy and procedures designed to safeguard and protect staff and associates from all forms of harm and abuse including sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. Women, children, PWDs, young people and vulnerable adults are central to our operations.

We expect that staff, interns, board members, program participants, service providers, partner organizations and all other stakeholders shall uphold high standards of behavior that are in line with our Code of Conduct.

At a minimum, GROOTS Kenya is committed to conducting annual risk assessment, enforce safeguarding recruitment and screening procedures, continuously create awareness on matters safeguarding among staff and communities etc.

For any safeguarding violation by staff member or associated personnel, we encourage anyone with any concerns, suspicions or if in any case you witness a safeguarding violation by any staff member, or any stakeholder you should report to the Safeguarding Focal Person through any of the following channels;

Reports will be handled confidentially in accordance with GROOTS Kenya Safeguarding Policies and our responses are Survivor-centered. GROOTS Kenya will not tolerate any threats, intimidation or retaliation against anyone who makes a complaint or provides information supporting a complaint.
