Kakeani Kukilany'a CBO was founded in 2020 and is registered with Social Services. It has 100 members, including women, girls, and male champions. The CBO is a combination of four groups that were formed in 2013 when we joined GROOTS Kenya with a focus on Access to Market.
The CBO has a bank account with Equity Bank and holds meetings once a month. Our poultry farmers locally produce feed formulations, and we have a partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture. We have benefited greatly from the Ministry of Agriculture's ASDSP program, which provided us with poultry feed machines, including a pellet maker and a mixer.
Through the SIVAP (Small Irrigation Value Agricultural Project) funded by the World Bank, the CBO has benefited from the construction of a poultry house, a store, a hall, and the provision of drinkers, feeders, and 1,000 chicks.
