Symphorosa Wanjiru Ngugi is the Chairlady of the Migikagi Banana Growers Group from Muruka Ward, Kandara Sub-county, Muranga County. She is also the Kandara Sub-county Coordinator and joined Grooks Kenya in 2018 under the REEP Banana Value Chain program of Community Response to Disaster and Climate Change. She engages in Smallholder Empowerment and Agribusiness Promotion (SHEP Biz) in her Subcounty and is a Trainer of Trainers in African Indigenous Vegetables Growing in Muranga County, motivating and emphasizing the community on usage, nutritive value, and commercialization. As a Budget Champion, she advocates for proper public finance management and public participation so that people's voices can be heard.
Symphrosa is also a Gender, Data, and Statistics Champion and G.V.B. respondent fighting against domestic violence. Through leadership training, she emphasizes women leadership and governance. Additionally, she is the treasurer of Kiranga Dispensary, Kirurumo Avocado Growers Group, and a committee member of Kariaini Welfare.
