As a result of her work with GROOTS Kenya, Susy was able to apply for an administrative position in Kakamega County and is now the Community Administrator in her ward. This position has enabled her to effectively engage the county government programs such as CIDP ADP, CISP during public participation. She has used her position to advocate for women's land rights in her county and has held barazas to discuss the importance of women's land rights and how to ensure that they are respected. She also provides legal advice to women who are facing land disputes and has helped them to access, use, and control their land. Susy also advocates for joint title deed demand as a land right for women. Additionally, she has provided shelter and financial assistance to girls and minors who are facing land disputes and has helped them return to school. Through public barazas, she has been able to address the issue of insecurity in public spaces for women, girls, and children. She has advocated for the installation of high mast lights in markets and other public spaces to ensure that they are well-lit and safe and also invited boda boda leaders to her barazas to engage them in taking responsibility for preventing early pregnancies. As a member of the Board of Management (BOM) of a school, she has addressed the issue of day schools releasing students late and reporting too early, which can create space for early pregnancies.
