Miriam Wanjiru

Miriam Wanjiru, a champion of gender-based violence and a member of the Mipogro Women's Group from Ndaragwa Sub County's Central Ward in Nyandarua County, which engages in table banking and potato farming, joined Groots Kenya in 2018 under the Rural Women Economic Project (REEP) project.
As a vocal leader of women's groups in Nyandarua, Miriam has spearheaded and championed engagement with government offices and created a link with office bearers. In 2021, she participated in and completed leadership virtual training at Cody University in Canada. She coordinates Groots Kenya's activities as a lead woman in accessing information in government offices and sensitizing women on adaptation and mitigation of climate change.
Miriam continues to live GROOTS Kenya's vision of empowering women.
