Margaret Njeri Muriithi from Gituamba Village, Gitaru Ward, Kabete Sub-county, joined GROOTS Kenya in 2014 through the Land Rights project. She’s a member of Discovery Women for Transformative Change (DWOTRAC). She is a community paralegal, community policing/Nyumba kumi, Area Advisory Committee (AAC), Community Health Volunteer (CHV), COVID-19 protocols champion, mental health champion, menstrual health, Village Based Advisor (VBA), Ward Project Management Committee (PMC), Village Elder, volunteer in SDO (OVC, PWD, Elderly), community mobilizer/social groups, women empowerment, and advocacy (disaster management, drought-resilient). She is also waging war on gender-based violence, alcohol and drug substances, domestic animal rights/poaching, land rights, and human trafficking/smuggling. She is the Commissioner Coordinating the Catholic Justice & Peace Commission (CJPC) in Kikuyu Deanery composed of both Kabete and Kikuyu Sub counties.
