Hellen Wairimu Kamiri

Hellen Wairimu Kamiri is a Trainer of Trainers (TOT) in home-based care and a member of the Kiamworia Mariani Women group from Kiganjo Ward. She joined GROOTS Kenya in 2002 and was the focal point leader in Kiambu from 2004 to 2014.
Hellen coordinated two programs: Women and Property and Climate Smart Agriculture and formed a CBO, Gatundu Mwirutiri Women group. In 2013, she received the Moran of the Burning Spear award from the President. She has received leadership, agriculture, and participation awards from GROOTS Kenya's programs, activities, and training. Her awards and training include; UNwomen voter education as a Trainer of Trainers (TOT), Award On Learning Route Action-oriented research and policy influence, High tunnel construction and integrated tomato crop and pest management under the Kiambu County Government, a certificate of participation in Entrepreneurship and Record Keeping at Kenyatta Agricultural Centre, and training on conflict management through UNDP.
Hellen has been a BOG member of St. Mary Girls Kiamworia for 7 years, Vice-Chair of Gatundu South Peace Committee, Treasurer of Kiamworia Catholic Church for 6 years, a member of Munio Amani Women Group, and Gatundu Mwirutiri.
