Grace Wanjiku

Grace Wanjiku is a budget champion and community-based facilitator from Ichagaki Ward, Maragua Sub-County in Murang'a County. She is the founder of Githuya Women Group and chair lady of Kiamweru Banana Growers, where they practice banana farming and value addition.
Grace joined GROOTS Kenya in 2018 under the Rural Women Economic Empowerment Project (REEP) and currently coordinates grassroots women to access information from the government and private sectors, and sensitizes members of the community in decision-making and public participation.
From 2013 to 2015, Grace served as an office secretary at the MCA's office, and from 2015 to 2017, she managed the office while organizing sports in her ward. She is a proud farmer who takes a strong stand against gender-based violence.
