Esther Gathoni Kabochi

Esther Gathoni Kabochi is a champion and coordinator in Tigithi Ward, Laikipia East Constituency, Laikipia County. She joined GROOTS Kenya in 2014 during the Women and Leadership Program, having previously vied for an MCA but lost. Her responsibilities include continuing the sensitization of transformative leadership, practicing climate change mitigation through climate-smart agriculture, water harvesting, tree nurseries, and also championing as a lead farmer in kitchen gardens, where she sensitizes communities to have an organic kitchen garden in every household. She creates awareness of natural herbs that boost immunity, detoxifiers, and prevent some diseases. She is also a budget champion, marketer, and installer of clean cook stoves, and the chairperson of Thiungoti Organic Farmers Group.
